What had become to our children?

My children would often told me story as if they are real, giving me names of character as if they just live next door. Then, I get frustrated to know later that they are video game characters. Well, at this point, I have to ask them ; Can you introduce them to me again? 

   Last night GMA News flash a report about a 3 years old girl raped by a 12 years old boy. Just the other day, 13 yrs. old shoot his 17 yrs. old friend inside a mall.  There is a propose bill at The House of Representatives to re-write the "Youth Offenders" Act. .Click this link for Child & Welfare Code of the Philippines. 

   This proposal was triggered by the recent offenses particularly by young boys and girls against  motorist on major streets in Metro Manila either committing direct robbery or just for thrills. These young boys and girls are protected by the constitutions that states they should not be incarcerated. The most we could do to them is turn them to Department of Social Welfare either for reprimand or counseling and then later release to repeat the same offense again. There are some who believe syndicates are taking these opportunities to use these children to commit crime. Like what I saw again on the News where two little girls about 5-7 yrs old became partners with an adult for shoplifting as recorded in CCTV Camera. When they were caught the owner simply releases them because she said to Police “she’s just a child”.

When I started this blog, I thought I had found a cause I needed to get behind. I came to learn that the issue is far more complicated than I’d ever imagined. I continue to believe there is something fundamentally wrong about trying and convicting juveniles as adults and incarcerating them in adult prison for life without the possibility of parole, but my reasons have changed. (Emphasis added)
I learned that most of these juvenile offenders committed unspeakable crimes. I learned that in cases where offenders could be said to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, someone was brutally murdered.
I learned that the loved ones of the victims of these crimes;  mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, children, friends and neighbors endure a lifetime of grief and pain. Marriages fall apart. Mental illness and substance abuse often ensue.
The loved ones of the juvenile offenders suffer similar fates, although often alone, shunned by relatives, friends and members of their communities.
I searched on line and read books on everything I could find detailing the crimes of the 46 offenders in my home state of Colorado who will die in prison, trying to understand how they could have done the things they did. I found no answers. Some of them made impulsive, stupid decisions and ended up being party to deadly crimes. And some of them are dangerous sociopaths who are incapable of feeling compassion for other people or remorse for what they’ve done.

     Maybe, most of us have similar reactions. sentiments, and even confusion whether this law is still applicable or serving its causes. This trend is very alarming and I’m trying to figure out why?

   First, I look inside the Family. Most of these children grew up in an atmosphere where either one or both parents are too busy “earning a living” or either they get their much needed attention from friends, or thru the cyber world. Some even had parents working overseas and they left their children to other adults who are either too busy themselves or too old to catch up what’s happening in them.  

   I’m going to take the Biblical perspective on these issues. Perhaps, what our law-makers overlooked is the very basic principle that the Bible states, and we need not go further…we simple have to browse The 10 Commandments.

   Love the Lord thy God…How many today’s family go to church together? Do you introduce God to your children?

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength-- Deut. 6:5

   I had a friend who had been in and out of jail, from various offenses and he told me once; “You know what, I blame my parents for not introducing religion to me. Maybe, if I had formed the habit of praying to God, things would be a lot different.”

   Now, listen to what Jesus said when the elders tried to stop children from going near Jesus...

But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.-- Luke 18:16

   Perhaps, this little children were noisy, playing around while Jesus was discussing an interesting topic like salvation...but of course children are like that. 

  Educational Institution should take some actions too. Most school has altogether abandon inclusion of “Religion” in their curriculum. We used to have Freedom of Religion, now we opted Freedom from Religion. Before, we are free to worship what ever gods we like; now we are given the opportunity not to worship any god at all. I wonder if it's progress or decay???

Some shall depart to the faith taking heed to seducing spirits…

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. -- 1 Timothy 

   Thou shall not make unto thee graven images…well if you carefully follow what happen after if you disobey this command, the curse will pass from generation to generation…this mean if you practice idolatry, and the consequences are your children will suffer the curses. Well, it’s hard to say these but if you have “gay” or “lesbian” child, it’s a result of these offense. Don’t hit it on me; this is what the Bible declares on Roman chapter One. I’m not condemning the third sex or the forth whatsoever…I believe there are some transgender who still function as a good citizen. But let us consider what is in Romans 1:21-26

²¹ For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. ²² Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools ²³ and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
 ²⁴ Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. ²⁵ They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
 ²⁶ Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. ²⁷ In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

    Now that's the due penalty for "worshiping idols"....

   The thing is, when you worship “idols” fashioned by human hands (in fact, the Bible was so strict on the matter, that even making one is already a sin) you get these results. You can read the whole chapter and see what other bad effect worshipping gods made from stone, metal, or wood.

   By the way, the shooting incident between a 13 and 17 yrs old from initial investigation of Police was seen on the angle “crime of passion” and the two victims are both male. Obviously, either one of the two is from the other sex. (Again, let me stress, these curses can be lifted if we turn back to God)

   Obey your parents…You can never go wrong when you obey your parents. 

   But what kind of parent do we obey? Or are as parents are we spending quality time to our children? This command obviously point out that as mother and father, we should guide our children…the stress on this command isn’t on the children only but also to the parents. There is a mutual responsibility existing on this admonition.

   Therefore, since our child should be guided accordingly I will focus on the parents activities instead, what the Bible said on how to discipline our children…

   The Lord gave us the authority to spank our children. The idea seems to be outdated now, since our law makers are pushing “No spanking” during discipline. I think the psychological study blame the rebellious character of children as result of strict discipline. What clinical study and law-makers must realized is the relationship of “pain” and “sin”. 

   The Bible on the other hand have different view on this matter, especially those written by King Solomon (The wisest man that ever lived according to the Scripture)

 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. (Proverbs 13:24) 

Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. (Proverbs 19:18) 

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. (Proverbs 22:15) 

Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. (Proverbs 23:13) 

15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. 17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. (Proverbs 29:15, 17)

   I want to make special focus on the 3rd verse. It seems Solomon is pointing out that by "Nature" children are bound to make mistake if not guided properly. This is contrary to other clinical study that claims, children are born good and that environment are factor if he or she became bad.

   Now, asked your grandparents what happened to them when they are naughty? Now compare the heinous crime of our generation to the past. There are fewer and lesser crimes, people are more discipline, respectful, and most important pray to God on daily basis. You don’t read a child molesting another child do you during their time?

   Just a reminder, God wants discipline NOT HAZING.

   The rest of the commandments are there for guidance. If we adult do them like “Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife…” expect the same result from our children.

A Prophesy coming true

   The future is here, where Biblical prophesy coming true…Children becoming disobedient to their parents…you are witnessing terrible crime one after the other…but don’t loose hope…the Bible also declares.

  ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; -- Acts 2:17 (See also Joel 2:28)

Challenges for Parents

    As a parent myself, I know the reality how hard it is to be a role model and train my own children. You wish and envisioned your children to be good citizens in the future...but there are some realities we have to face. Like we can't be with them all the time. Now how do we fare to these modern challenges our children experience everyday? 

   Here are some suggestions that I have gathered that might help...
  Participate in sports with them or if you can't, just watch them play. By being there for support is enough for them  to realized that you love them  and that you have your approval on this positive activities.

   Regular communication is important just like in any relationship. This reminds me of a noodle commercial that I commend  where it encourage family dinner and spending time together. At least we can reserved 1 or 2 dinner per week with our children. Better if we can do it daily. 

   That's the disadvantage of children who had parents abroad...it's harder for them to extract vital information that might gave them clue if their children are going to commit suicide. Well, I think we should remind the adults we had left with our children, as their guardian to be responsible and if possible who are good parent themselves. Maybe we should re-classify our priorities. It's not impossible anymore to have regular communication, we had the internet and cellphones to keep up with our growing children. 

ATTENTION
   "Look at me dad!"
   Look at me, I'm going to shoot all my classmates...then kill myself. Then finally I have your attention. 
   Here's one of the last Facebook status of a teen-age boy who had committed suicide the other day: Let us laugh! I am sad...

   Get to know your children more. Ask them what music they like and dislike. It's a bit nosy but at least you should check your children's status on Facebook...who they are talking to and exchanging message with.

   Most of the Child offenders being interviewed seems to have problem on "attention". They believe if they commit these crimes they will get the much attention they needed. 

   Learn the Technology of our Youth. Well maybe we can ask them what are the latest YouTube viral videos, what are the tricks on playing "SF" or what level they are on CityVille. This way we get their attention. It is easier to make them talk, when they know you are at the level of their thinking (or at least, trying to understand even if we are lost to their use of language).

   More importantly, introduce God to them. Maybe, we should both study the word of God together. Like Shamcey Supsup said during the Ms. Universe pageant; "He should love my God too." Well, do your children worship the same God you know? Or they are worshiping "idols" like Rock Star or Animated Character?  

   Enroll your children to Bible School or encourage them to join Youth Ministries. This is better if you don't have time spending "Bible Study" with them.

Why Science won above Religion? And How to Read the Bible

Can we understand the Bible?

   When The Bible said that Heaven and Earth was made in 6 days and on the 7^th day GOD rested; that is what it means. But some people claims base on scientific “fact” that the actual creation time may have been actually Thousands or Million of years. A single day, as they computed was actually much longer since God is using a different time table base on fossils record of the gradual evolution of living things. 

   Is that so? Then, if we take that concept it will contradict passages from Genesis and the whole Bible itself. We read in Genesis that on the sixth day God made man, which is Adam. That as we know Adam lived for about 900 years only, how can that be? Adam must have lived then for Millions of years if we took that stance because after the 7^th day that God rested, we can find him still living and enjoying in the Garden of Eden. That is only 2 days from the 6^th to the 7^th day, and then how about his life with Eve after the fall? And did God rested on the 7^th day or Sabbath for thousands or millions of years.

   The above scenario is interpreting the Bible on known traditions and base on human knowledge. Carbon dating of fossils is human inventions and even Scientist admits this are just calculations and not accurate. Therefore, Science is Confusing us on time frame when they claim dinosaurs was already gone into extinction before man came. But that was not the case in the Bible. The Bible mentions giants, monsters, and big sea creatures especially the one that swallow Jonah for 3 days and 3 nights. So man co-existed with Dinosaurs contrary to scientific findings.

Latest Scientific discovery as technology advances are now re-affirming what the Scriptures had written centuries ago.

   Now, scientists are discovering that there were no gradual evolutions of simple life form into complex creatures but actually a sudden appearance of life with no known predecessor.  Especially during the Cambrian era; when they discover thousands of simple bacteria in different sizes and shapes appearing almost spontaneous and instant. The fault is “People chose to listen, to what they want to hear.” Our tendency as a sinful man is to resist the “Truth” because it is making us uncomfortable. We re-model the truth according to our beliefs and traditions.

   Why people had doubts about Bible claims is that because they applied theoretical knowledge in answering things they could not understand. In Science when they said theory it is still not proven. Now, making guess or extracting message from the Bible base on unproven doctrines can be confusing isn't it? 

   Therefore, it is just right to believe in a Book that is tested by time to be factual and true. 

   Why we must understand the validity of Genesis claim? Because; once Bible readers consider Genesis as just symbolical representation; or what some claims as allegorical, everything that follows will be senseless. The Bible is so specific when the intention was symbolic and not literal. 

   Why it is not symbolical or an allegory? First, the intent and context of Genesis was to give a chronological order of Earth’s history. Would a historian use language that the future readers will not comprehend? History must be plainly written. Only prophesy had that quality of using symbolism, the intent was for believers to understand but non-believers to be unaware. God purpose on prophesy is to bring Faith and not punishment. The purpose is to make non-believers to believe the believers when they explain what will happen next. Do you think God enjoy killing people when He declares “I will drown mankind by flood”?   

   Anyway, Genesis above anything else is history except some part where it is indicated. The Book of Acts is historical so you won’t find too much symbolism there. Revelation is prophetic so it uses a lot of symbols. One must understand the intention of the book why it is written. Remember the Bible is a collection of books from different authors of different time period.

The Mistake of St. Augustine

  If St. Augustine (regarded as the greatest thinker of the Roman Catholic Church) had only thoroughly read The Book of Job, Ezekiel and Isaiah's book he would not have made a faulty model of the solar systems and the earth spherical shape. But instead of believing the Bible, Augustine chose the Greek Philosophers explanation of the Universe. The result of this mistake began the disagreement of Church and Science…from that day on-wards the Church refuse anything Science offered.  

   Poor Galileo was accused of being a heretic when he said the Earth revolves around the sun, not the other way around. R.C.C. had mistakenly ex-communicated Galileo for his findings. Now his discoveries are known scientific fact. Instead of validating his findings from the world of God they argue on the basis of pagan and Gentile knowledge.

   What’s the effect of this misunderstanding? Science triumph in the end and Religion loses its credibility. Now mankind, put their faith in Science…since Science is more credible, mankind rejects anything that can not be proven by Science.

   Can an ordinary person understand and interpret the Bible?

   The answer is Yes and No. Yes we can understand, if we take it as it is and No if you make your own interpretation. The Bible explains itself. Meaning each teaching has a supporting passage within The Scripture. All we need to have is patience in looking for complementing passages. That is why in Joshua 1:8 we are advice to meditate on the word of God.

   The Bible is complete, inerrant, and can stand to defend itself. That is why on its last book, the Book of Revelation we are told; not to add or minus anything from it. The standard sets of Bible we now enjoy is basically the same with what the early Christians used; with the 4 Gospels already decided to be included among the thousands in circulations during that time of the early Church. I don’t know what were the reasons of the Apostle, why they did not include the Gospel of Timothy, Gospel of Mary Magdalene, Gospel of Judas, et al…but what is certain the collection of Books we now had is complete. (Maybe if God would reveal this to me, I might have a separate topic on this area)

   Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6

   That is the reason why I intend not to tackle issues that was not revealed to me through the word of God. I would not comment on issues that were not within my reach or something that was not confirmed by the word of God. I don’t claim “extra revelation” which was characteristic anyway of a false prophet.  Just like the Beetles who claim in their songs “When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me…speaking word of wisdom let it be!”

   How was that supposed to happen? What word of wisdom that she spoke? Mary did not even write a Gospel. I don’t even recall from the nth times that I’ve read the Bible, that she was given special adoration after Jesus died and resurrected. What we know, Jesus being a good son, still remembers to provide for his earthly mother, and for gratitude while on the cross commanded “John, behold thy mother.” And “Woman, behold thy son.” Jesus understood the pain Mary experiencing of loosing a son. At the same time Jesus called her as “woman” because He is already returning to His real nature as God after this impending death. He is thanking Mary for being the “vessel” or passage to Earth as man, to fulfill prophesies.  

   It was so surprising for even Church leaders to admonish us not to read the Bible for ourselves. Why was that? They say it would make one confused. What! The word of God makes us confused? That seems to be more confusing. From cover to cover of the Bible we are encourage to read the Bible, get to know God through the works and teachings of Jesus, now they are telling us not to read for ourselves.

   St. Paul speaks about the faith of the Bereans who after hearing his message would go home and check the Old Testament if what he is preaching were true. Obviously, the early believers do not have the New Testament yet because the covenant is still on the process at that time.

   Total trust in God will aid us in understanding His message. Probably, just a little common sense will do. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance…that is if you already surrender your life to Jesus and become born-again. You can not expect HELP from the Holy Spirit if you have not repented and asked forgiveness from God. Being “born-again” is a prerequisite to experience the Kingdom of God.

   In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."-- John 3:3

   Come to Jesus as a child; ignore all your previous knowledge. God does not look into social status. Peter was just a fisherman, Paul was a tent maker by trade, Matthew was a tax collector, Moses was not a good speaker, and me Fher Ymas is not even a Theologian or Pastor. I did not even attend any seminar on Bible teaching. I am just a simple church-goer who most of the time fail to attend services or fellowship. I am just following the basic principle of the Bible who said…”Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

   Isn’t it plain and simple, no magic tricks, no more ceremony, no need to attend seminary? All we need to do is seek!!! We are complicating and making life difficult by trying to maneuver the words of God according to our preferences. All we have to do is have faith.

   Who helps me speak and blog about faith and God?

   JOHN 14:25, 26:  "All this I have spoken while still with you.  But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

   In fact, I am just simply re-stating God’s word. These teachings are not mine.

The Failure of Science and turning to New Age Thinking

   Recently, we are awakening about the weakness of Science. The solution they claim to make life easier is now killing our planet. A global new thinking is rising and even more dangerous than its predecessor. We are trying to return to our primal beginnings…More and more people are turning into alternative medicine, eastern-religions, magic and potions. People are now returning to its spiritual nature but denying Bible teachings. People are now embracing the idea of Soulmate, channeling, feng-shui, and even the population of Atheist and Agnostics are rising. Some Christians even have the nerve to mix their faith with other religions and beliefs. God clearly warned us in avoiding this marriage or inter-mingling of Religion. 

   Read Deuteronomy 23 and see what God commanded against mixing faith in Him with other beliefs.

What The Bible say about Soul Mate?

Before we tackle issues regarding soul mate, let us first read this passage regarding marriage....we will find this on Matthew 22:23-30

23 That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 24 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for him. 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?”
29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

    First, when we talk about soul mate it is just appropriate to get resources from an authority that know our souls, someone who created that soul.We get our idea of soul from God and where can we find the word of God? The Holy Bible. 

   At the above given scenario, the people seems to be asking "who is the soul mate of the woman?" Since, she had been married to 7 men. So to whom she will be together eternally in heaven? Does it mean she had seven soul mates?  

   Now if we are taking into consideration what was Jesus reply, we can clearly see that, there is no such thing us soul mate destined for mankind. When I say soul mate here, this is the general notion that a man had a pre-destined woman for him or vice versa.  According to earthly beliefs that there is only ONE person created for us to be betrothed.

   The idea of soul mate also violate one basic principle. Our freedom of choice or free will. God make us human not robot. We had the option to like what we will like. Also, to dislike what we don't like.

   Not only that the world view on soul mate is not Biblical it is also dangerous. Why? How many times I have heard people getting divorce because she or he reasoned out, that they finally found their soul mates. 

   Another, this idea became an excuse to say "Me and my spouse can not agree and will have a lifetime of bad karma." The two will either separate in the end or live a life full of regrets. Instead of working out a harmonious relationship.

   But don't loose hope, there seems to be a Biblical support on soul mate. But it is not on terms we know. 

   After finding the one we love, and the courtship phase, there comes marriage...and what does Jesus said on this? Let us read Mark 10:7-8

7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8 and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.

   There is the Lord's will but never a pre-assigned and pre-arrange partner. In this way we can pray for God to choose a better person for us among the people we meet. This does not leave all the matter to God and blame him later on if we chose the wrong person because we "think" he is our soul mate. 

   Jumping into conclusion for soul mates which are often just infatuations is not reasonable at all. Just because we have so much in common it doesn't mean we will have a marriage made in heaven. Statistic shows that love usually fade after the honeymoon period. There are varied reason's and I know you are familiar with them.

   There is a guideline from the Bible what kind of spouse is ideal. I hope I have cleared this issue.

THE VIRGIN MARY TALE

“The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN...that they may provoke me to anger” —Jeremiah 7:18

I am surprised that some people still justify that Jesus is the only child of Mary after I have pointed out (see The Stolen Identity of Jesus, January Blog ) that Jesus had other siblings, the half-brothers are James, Joseph, Judas and Simon plus 2 or more sisters (rendered as plural so we are safe to say there are more than one and can be More than two). In fact the mentioned children are her only legitimate children because if we follow the event,  Jesus is pre-existing even before the heaven and earth begun....

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

   Mary was only used as a vessel to carry the incarnated body of Our Lord in Human form. To give blessed Mary the title Mother of God is therefore an outright contempt against God. Mary is a created being just like you and me and just like any angelic beings who are also created by God. How can a created being become a mother of the Creator? She must be therefore a Goddess, and a goddess have to be virgin. I don't know what's wrong if Mary had other children aside from Jesus. It doesn't change a thing. She is still highly favored among women.

   The ulterior motives was clearly evident if you know the goddess Diana whom the Roman worship, or the goddess Isis of Ancient Babylon. The fabrication made by Catholics is to re-package Mary as a mother of god which made her equal to God. The Bible is clear to state that Yeshua or Yahshua originated directly from the Father.

John 1:18

"The only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

   Coming from the bosom will mean here that He is not created but "given birth to..." by God The Father. We must realized here that God doesn't have to follow human nature neither be subjected to physical limitations, so He doesn't need another spiritual-being to create. That is why Jesus can declare the statement below:

John 16:28
"I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world."

THE INSTANCE OF MARY 
   There was a very telling instance that shows Jesus is NOT the only child of Mary and Joseph, we can find that in Luke Chapter 2:41-52

⁴¹Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
 ⁴²And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
 ⁴³And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
 ⁴⁴But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
 ⁴⁵And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
 ⁴⁶And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
 ⁴⁷And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
 ⁴⁸And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
 ⁴⁹And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
 ⁵⁰And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
 ⁵¹And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
 ⁵²And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man

  
   Now my question, what kind of a mother would forget her son? I mean, an only son? 

   It is said Jesus is 12 years old when it happened. Almost a teenager but still young to be left out. This scenario simply shows that Mary was perhaps occupied with other younger boys and girls, so it is forgiveable for her to forget a young man Jesus. But she is not irresponsible as a mother because did you read how she reacted and maybe crying and hurt at that moment to Jesus and to paraphase  "What have you done...we are worried about you".

   Now if Mary had only Jesus to take care about during that travel, do you think she would neglect him and be left behind?
   We know Mary was virgin when she concieved Jesus to fulfill certain prophesy but she did not retain that quality because she and her husband Joseph continue to be married and have children. So why would the false religion want to retain or put special emphasis to her "virginity"?
QUEEN OF HEAVEN
    The Roman religion worship "goddess of heaven" long before they capture Jerusalem, probably their own version of Isis from Egyptian cult they also had Diana who is also associated with the moon...The worship to goddess of heaven had been around since antiquity. Also known as Queen of Heaven, the title given to a number of  ancient Medditeranean and Near East goddesses such as Astarte, Innana, Anat, Isis and the Hebrew even had Asherah (mentioned in the book of Jeremiah) long before Jesus came. The adoptation made by some who claim to be Christians attached the title to Mary as Queen of Heaven also.
    Worship of a "Queen of Heaven", in Hebrew Malkath haShamayim (מלכת השמים) is recorded in the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah, circa 628 BC, in the context of the Prophet condemning such religious worship as blasphemy and a violation of the teachings of the God of Israel.
   The first century Christians never venerated Mary with such title and if we examined the New Testament, there was no more mention of Mary after the Gospel having special honor the way Catholic do.
IDOLS
   I think the real Mary's is greatly hurt seeing the people being led to deception to worship her image. Human should not be worship and the apostle knew these solid fact, they never demanded to be worship but instead take extra caution to avoid the mistake. The illustrations can be found in Acts chapter 14. People have the tendencies to worship and idolized his fellowmen. This happen to Paul and Barnabas when they cured a lame man in Lystra....the Lycoanian quickly associates them into their known gods... ^"And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker." (v.12) When the two saw that the people are already doing rituals in honor for them, they move quickly to correct the errors...


"Friends, why are you doing this? We are merely human beings--just like you! We have come to bring you the Good News that you should turn from these worthless things and turn to the living God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them." (verse 15)


   It's not wrong to recognized and honor saints, their lives are inspirations to us But to make them as gods is hurting God who said...

“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God” (Exodus 20:4-5)

   Jesus also emphatically said "I am the way, the truth, and the life..."

 "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." —Isaiah 42:8

   Notice the Halo around Mary (especially her head). Ancient depiction of deity  always portray them with halo or the sun-disc in honor of the sun. The idolatrous practice of the Catholics which symbolizes deity (that she is equal with God).The Babylonians practiced the same idolatrous worship to the Queen of Heaven. Mary is NOT deity, she was a normal every-day woman. Yes friend, Satan is definitely working in the Vatican and in Catholic organizations all across the world. Though most Catholics will deny worshipping Mary, the evidence says something very different! They bow down and literally pray in the name of "Mother Mary" to a graven statue of Mary. This is sinful idolatry! They are lying through their teeth. God makes CLEAR in His Word that He will NOT share His glory with another (that includes Mary).

"Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them..." —Exodus 20:5

God has commanded us in Exodus 20:5 NOT TO BOW DOWN to her. Even if your not worshiping Mary, you ARE SINNING if you bow down to her because the Bible strictly forbids it! 

"Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." -Mark 7:7
